Now Children Have Phones Created Just For Them

July 21st, 2010 Parv Stenley No comments

There aren’t too many kinds of kids cell phones on the market right now. Some of the ones that are on the market have bigger keys and many fewer options than regular cell phones. Kids need all the basics in a cell phone and many of the phones meant for kids have a neat design and a bright color to get them interested in it. However, the camera and many of the other fancy options that the adult phones of today have are completely unnecessary.

Parents generally desire cell phones for children to be sure their children are safe, and this makes all of these other extra options dispensable. A simple phone with a basic service plan will do if you are just purchasing the phone for your child’s safety and your own piece of mind.

The advantage of having a cell phone that is made especially for kids is really only useful for younger children. Some of those phones have features such as GPS tracking that parents will want in order to be able to keep tabs on their children. There are other features available that are really meant to help the parents more than the kids.

Choosing the best model cell phone for your kids depends a lot of how old your child is and what they are like. If you think your child might tend to be irresponsible about using up minutes, then you might want to consider a prepaid phone. If, however, your child is older and tends to be more responsible, you might be willing to let them have a phone with some of the extra bells and whistles. It’s really up to the parents to assess their own situation with their children to decide which kind of phone would be a good choice.

A child can learn the basic skills of using a phone by receiving one of these phones designed specifically for kids. All children these days want a phone, and if your child hasn’t asked you for one yet, they probably will soon. You have to decide, as a parent, if your child is ready to handle the responsibility of having their own cell phone. Many parents don’t agree that cell phones are appropriate for younger children to have. Some parents feel that giving a child a phone is making them grow up too soon.

Airsoft Guns: Firearms Or Toys?

February 12th, 2010 Anthony Carter No comments

Hearing the word guns makes you think of weapons and firearms. However, some guns are used for recreational purposes, collecting, sports, and battle. Surprisingly, some can even be used for fun. Airsoft guns are toy replicas of traditional firearms used for target practicing and fun. What exactly are airsoft guns you ask?

Airsoft guns are for recreational purposes only. They are designed after firearms however they do not shot regular bullets; they expel pellets usually made from a soft metal such as cooper or plastic. The pellets are driven from the gun by either a spring or compressed gas such as carbon dioxide or propane. Traditional firearms expel bullets which are usually made up of lead and some sort of explosive material which creates a fire or explosion propelling the bullet out of the barrel.

Airsoft guns should not be treated as toys. Someone using the recreational gun should be at least 16 years of age and taught proper handling techniques. There are some recreational sites that require airsoft users to be 18 years of age. Airsoft guns are usually harmless but protective gear is highly suggested. The pellets usually will not penetrate the skin however at certain velocities and distances it could especially if the pellets are made of a soft metal.

Japan was the first to manufacture the airsoft guns in the 1970’s. The original airsoft guns were produced with springs for expelling the pellets. The shooting mechanisms were later improved to allow for more velocity and accuracy by using compressed gas to expel the pellets. Airsoft guns that are used and sold in the United States have a signature blaze orange tip.

Airsoft guns can come in many different models and some are true replicas of the actual firearms. When purchasing an airsoft gun you need to make sure that you are not purchasing on that does not have trademark rights, because some do not and are considered illegal.

Accessories make a gun more user-friendly and are available for airsoft guns as well. The accessories are imitations of the real thing and can cause the airsoft guns to increase in price dramatically. Accessories such as magazines, clips, spotlights and scopes are available for the airsoft guns.

Airsoft guns can have their firing mechanism built inside or can be mounted outside much like a paintball gun. There are also older electric models which have batteries that are rechargeable. The most popular though are the spring and compressed gas airsoft guns.

Airsoft guns are very similar to the classic BB gun but with the similarities of real guns. They shot plastic pellets, are modeled after real guns and are used for recreational fun. This toy gun is apparently much safer than a real gun and can be utilized for training and fun. Airsoft guns make great additions for any one that loves guns and having fun with guns.
